How Much Time You Need
A full day does Miami justice. On a turnaround day you can still fit one neighborhood if flight and luggage timing allow.

We flew in the day before and spent it on South Beach, which was the right call. On embarkation day itself there just isn't time to do much beyond boarding. Rideshare from the terminal was quick and easy, maybe twenty bucks to the beach.
had a few hours after we got off before our flight so just walked over to bayside and grabbed lunch by the water. easy enough, didnt need a car for that bit
Everything's flat and the Ubers are everywhere, which made it painless for us. We did Vizcaya the day before the cruise, gorgeous gardens by the bay. Just know your terminal letter or the driver gets confused, we learned that the hard way.
Post cruise we did Wynwood then Little Havana, back to catch a 4pm flight. We stashed our bags at a storage place near Bayside so we weren't dragging cases around Wynwood, which honestly made the day. The afternoon Uber back surged though.
Kids wanted the beach so we did South Beach the day before boarding. The heat got us though, we were melting by noon and ducked into a cafe. Lovely first Miami day, wish we'd had two.
Assumed I could see Miami on embarkation morning. Between the luggage and check in there was basically no time, I got as far as Bayside and that was it. Next time I'm staying a night first. It's a homeport, plan accordingly.
