Classic small Norwegian fjord stop. Dock is right at the village, no faffing with tenders. If you want the big glacier just take the ship tour, it’s the only sensible way here.
We didn’t want a long bus day so we just walked into the village and did the Viking museum. The longship inside is enormous. Lovely slow morning and we were back for lunch on the ship.
Sagastad kept the kids busy with the VR and archery, then we did the Loen Skylift tour. Long day but the view from the top was unreal. Book the tour early, they fill up.
Assumed we could grab a local bus to the glacier. There isn’t one. Wished we’d booked ahead. Ended up wandering the town, which was pretty but not what we sailed all this way for.
tiny place but so pretty. coffee by the fjord, walked along the river, that was my whole day and honestly perfect
