The tender queue at day's end is the real risk. The village is tiny, so the return can bottleneck fast.

Tiny village, big ship, and that last tender line had me nervous. We did the 75 minute fjord boat, wandered a bit, then got back in the tender queue early. Do not leave it to the last minute here, there's nowhere to absorb the crowd.
Tried to walk up to Flydalsjuvet to save the bus money and underestimated how steep it is. Made it, views were great, but I was a sweaty mess and it ate an hour each way. Just take the shuttle unless you're properly fit.
Did the panorama bus with the kids, quick stops at the eagle bend and the viewpoint. The photo stops are short, ten minutes, so be ready with the camera. Kids liked the hairpin road more than the views honestly.
Geiranger is all about the scenery, not the town. If you've done the Norwegian fjords you know the village is just a base. We did a boat cruise and were happy. Dalsnibba is spectacular but it's a big chunk of your day on a short call.
