Tender or Docked?

Docked at the La Romana cruise pier. You walk off onto a dedicated dock, but there is little at the gate, so plan your first move before you step ashore.

How to Get Into Town

Taxi to Altos de Chavon: about 15 min, roughly $10-15 per person. A cruise shuttle covers the same route when offered.

Main Attractions

Altos de Chavon is the easy DIY highlight. Beaches at Bayahibe and boat trips to Saona are the alternatives, mostly as tours.

How Much Time You Need

A half day covers Altos de Chavon comfortably. A beach or Saona day fills the whole call.

Keep in Mind

There is nothing to do at the port gate, so have a plan. Everything worthwhile is a taxi or tour away.

Safety & Comfort

Comfortable and low-key. The resort sights are safe and easy; the main friction is arranging and pricing transport.
