Tender or Docked?

Docked, with a beach beside the pier. You walk off into the Grand Turk Cruise Center and the sand, pool, and shops are right there.

How to Get Into Town

Cockburn Town is a $5 per-person taxi, 10 minutes. The best free beach is right at the terminal; quieter sand is a short ride away.

Main Attractions

Beaches first, then a quick look at Cockburn Town. The reef and stingray cays are the draw, but most need a boat.

How Much Time You Need

3-4 hours is plenty for a beach day. The whole island is small, so most people never feel rushed.

Keep in Mind

The cruise center beach is not the whole island. The near-pier sand is developed and can be rocky; the nicer natural beach is a short taxi north.

Safety & Comfort

Very safe and first-timer friendly. English and US dollars make this one of the easiest Caribbean stops to do solo; just confirm taxi fares first.

Tips from Cruisers
