Tender or Docked?
Usually docked at Aloha Tower Marketplace (Piers 10-11) in downtown Honolulu. The dock is in a commercial port district, not near Waikiki or Pearl Harbor.
How to Get Into Town
TheBus to Waikiki: ~25-35 min, $3. To Pearl Harbor: ~20-30 min, $3. Both are easy and frequent.
Main Attractions
The USS Arizona Memorial is the most moving site in the Pacific: the sunken battleship is still visible below the memorial platform. Waikiki Beach is 3 miles away and every bit the legendary Hawaiian scene.
How Much Time You Need
8+ hours lets you do Pearl Harbor and Waikiki. A 5-6 hour call fits one or the other well.

Safety & Comfort
Honolulu is generally safe in tourist areas. Normal US city awareness applies downtown; Waikiki and Pearl Harbor are comfortable for independent travelers.

We had been to Honolulu before so skipped the obvious sites and took TheBus to Chinatown for the morning. Incredible fresh poke, interesting art galleries, very local feel. Then walked to the Iolani Palace — the only royal palace on US soil — for a guided tour. $27 per adult, well worth it. Nothing like this anywhere else in the US.
Waikiki was a short walk from the ship or one bus stop. We walked. Spent the morning on the beach and had shave ice on Kalakaua Avenue. Afternoon at the Diamond Head lookout via Uber. Simple day, no stress, everything was exactly as advertised. Sometimes Hawaii just delivers.
Pearl Harbor takes the whole day if you do it properly. We booked the USS Arizona Memorial, the Battleship Missouri, and the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum tickets online two months before the cruise. The Arizona Memorial alone is 2.5 hours with the boat shuttle and wait. Worth every minute but plan nothing else on a Pearl Harbor day.
