The tender lands you in the marina; downtown is a flat 10-15 min walk, free. Water taxis and cabs handle the beaches and the Arch.
Main Attractions
El Arco and Lovers Beach are the signature DIY trip. Medano Beach and the marina walk round out an easy day.
How Much Time You Need
Half a day is plenty once you are ashore. The catch is the tender, so build the queue into your timing.
Keep in Mind
The tender queue is the whole game here. Everything else is easy; missing the last boat is the real danger.

I was watching the tender situation from about 1pm on. The line to get back was already long an hour before last tender and it moved so slowly. We made it but I did not enjoy that last hour. Go back earlier than you think.
We skipped the beach boats and just sat at a marina cafe watching the yachts. My knees are done with wet boat landings. Still a lovely, easy morning and we tendered back before the crowd.
grabbed a panga right off the boardwalk, guy took us out to the arch and lovers beach, waited, brought us back. maybe $20 each. best thing we did all cruise honestly
Booked a water taxi to the arch and the guy who was supposed to pick us up from lovers beach was 40 minutes late. Spent the whole time stressing about the tender. Beautiful spot but agree a hard pickup time and get his name.
Cabo is prettier than Puerto Vallarta but the tendering is a pain. If you've done Grand Cayman you know the drill. Get off early, get back early, and it's a great stop.
