Tender or Docked?
Docked at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal on Odaiba (Aomi). You walk off into the terminal, then it's an 8-minute walk to the train.
How to Get Into Town
Yurikamome to Shimbashi (~20 min, ~¥330-390), then a quick Yamanote transfer to central Tokyo. Odaiba itself needs no train at all.
Main Attractions
Odaiba's bay parks and Gundam on your doorstep; Asakusa, Shibuya and Ginza a train away. Pick a couple, not the whole city.
How Much Time You Need
A full day (or a pre/post night) for the famous districts. A turnaround morning really only covers Odaiba.
Keep in Mind
The terminal is on Odaiba, not in central Tokyo. The iconic districts are a reliable but real train ride away, so plan your time.

We already had Suica cards from a previous trip, took the Yurikamome to Shimbashi, then the Ginza Line metro up to Asakusa in about 50 minutes. Smooth as anything. The trains really do run to the minute.
didn't even leave odaiba on embarkation day. giant gundam, walked the bay, got a view of rainbow bridge. plenty for a morning honestly. saved tokyo proper for the days before.
Tried to do Shibuya and Asakusa in one turnaround afternoon with two kids. Bad idea. So much time on trains, the little one melted down at Shimbashi. Next time we're staying a night before and taking it slow.
The stations were the tiring part, not the walking outside. So many stairs and long tunnels. We paced ourselves, used the lifts where we could, and it was fine, but be ready for it.
Nearly caught out because our Tokyo cruise actually left from Yokohama, not the Odaiba terminal. Read the paperwork twice. Yokohama is lovely but it's a different city entirely for planning.
