Did Green Island rather than the outer reef with our two little ones and it was perfect. Snorkel straight off the beach, sandy cay to run around, back in loads of time. The full day trip would have been too much for them.
Get seasick easily and did NOT take anything before the outer reef trip. Regretted it the whole bumpy way out. The reef was stunning once we stopped but I felt green. Take the tablets, learn from me.
honestly just stayed in town, swam in the lagoon, wandered the esplanade with an icecream. reef another time. lovely relaxed day and didnt spend three hundred bucks.
We cant really snorkel anymore so we did the pontoon with the underwater viewing and the semi sub. Saw heaps of coral and fish without getting properly in the water. Dont assume the reef is off limits if you dont swim well.
