Tender or Docked?

Usually docked at Souda, 7 km from Chania. A frequent shuttle or the number 13 bus gets you into the old town in about 15-20 minutes.

How to Get Into Town

Port shuttle to Chania: ~15-20 min, a few euros. It drops near the Old Market, a 10-minute walk from the Venetian harbour.

Main Attractions

Chania's Venetian harbour and old town, plus Cretan beaches. The old town fits any call; the Samaria Gorge and far beaches need a long day.

How Much Time You Need

Half a day covers Chania's old town. Add a beach for a full day; save the gorge for a land trip.

Keep in Mind

The full Samaria Gorge does not fit a cruise day. The 16 km hike plus a ferry and a two-hour bus back runs 10-12 hours.

Safety & Comfort

A very safe, easy port. Chania is welcoming and walkable, with only normal crowd awareness needed.
