DIY Score
Easy DIY
Walk up to the old town, then bus to a cove for the afternoon.
Tender or Docked?
Usually docked at the Moll de Ponent, right below the old town. A lift or 107 steps gets you into the center in under 15 minutes.
How to Get Into Town
Old town: lift EUR 0.20 or 107 steps, under 15 min. For beaches, a TMSA bus runs 40-60 min each way from EUR 1.75.
Main Attractions
Clifftop old town, the Xoriguer gin distillery, and Menorca's white-sand coves. Do the town on foot, then choose one beach or Ciutadella for the afternoon.
How Much Time You Need
Half a day covers the town; a full call lets you add a cove. Budget 2 hours round trip if you head to a beach or Ciutadella.
Keep in Mind
Beach and cross-island buses are seasonal and thin out late. Note the last return before you set off, or you risk a costly taxi back.
Safety & Comfort
One of the calmer, safer Mediterranean ports. Low crime and simple logistics, with only light awareness needed.

got the bus to cala galdana, water was unreal. word of warning the bus back was busier than i expected and i nearly didnt get on. cut it closer than i wanted to.
We took the little lift up instead of those steps and I'm so glad we did, my hips would never. Spent a lovely slow morning in the old town and had gin at the harbour. Didn't bother with a beach and had zero regrets.
Took the two little ones to Binibeca, all those white lanes. They loved getting lost in it for an hour then we found a tiny beach nearby. Bring snacks, there's not loads open for kids right there.
I photographed the bus timetable at the stop the second we arrived because I was paranoid about missing the ship. Everyone laughed at me but I felt so much calmer knowing exactly which one I needed to catch back.
Best swim of the whole cruise honestly. We walked from Galdana over to Macarelleta and it was the colour of a postcard. Took longer than we thought though, wear proper shoes not flip flops for that path.
Much more relaxed than Palma or Barcelona. No hassle, no crowds pushing you around. We just did the town and a long lunch and it suited us fine.
