Tender or Docked?

Usually docked at Laem Chabang's commercial port. There are no taxis at the gate; arrange a private transfer in advance.

How to Get Into Town

Private transfer to Bangkok: 1.5-2.5 hours, 3,000-3,500 THB per vehicle. To Pattaya: 30-40 minutes, 600-900 THB.

Main Attractions

Bangkok's Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun are the headline temples. Pattaya is the safer timing alternative with beaches, the Sanctuary of Truth, and Buddha Mountain.

How Much Time You Need

10-12 hours is the minimum realistic call for Bangkok. Pattaya works on a 7-8 hour call.

Keep in Mind

Bangkok traffic is the biggest risk at this port. The return drive on a bad traffic day can take 3+ hours, and missing the ship is a real possibility.

Safety & Comfort

The temples are safe, but the Grand Palace area has well-documented tuk-tuk scams targeting tourists.

Tips from Cruisers
